Everyone has a different scale for pain tolerance and what is painful for someone may not bother someone else. Here at The Plucked Peach, we use a combination of the best waxes available along with a proven technique to ensure the most comfortable service possible. To further manage pain, we recommend taking an ibuprofen or aspirin roughly 30 minutes before your appointment to help minimize and discomfort. We also offer a numbing solution to those qualifying clients. Please note that we will not apply numbing solution to any client that skin in not fully intact. Please keep in mind that waxing more frequently will help lessen the pain as hair grows back finer and sparser making for a much easier waxing experience.
Yes, we require each client to be at least 14 years of age prior to receiving any services and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on your first visit as we need their consent prior to performing services. If the servicing Esthetician determine that the child is in too much pain or discomfort to continue the service, it is their right to refuse to continue providing services to said child.
Yes, it can be but don’t worry! Here at The Plucked Peach our Esthetician’s will take care of any needed trimming (necessary for hair longer than half an inch) for an additional fee of $10.00. Please note, that this fee is charged due to the fact that your service time has to be extended to trim down hair depending on the length, this extension cuts into the appointment immediately following your appointment thus causing the Esthetician to alter their schedule to accommodate. Hair that’s longer than ½ inch can make waxing difficult as its prone to breakage meaning the follicle won’t be removed and your results won’t last as long. Long hair can also cover up other hairs during a wax, which requires repeated waxes of the same area.
No, please don’t! Shaving often leaves the hair too short to wax properly thus requiring your Esthetician to have to wax the location several times using differing methods to remove the majority of the hair. By not shaving you are afforded a better wax experience and smoother results.
Everyone’s hair growth is different and depends upon several factors; genetics, medications, environmental factors, diet, etc. On your first you will notice your hair regrowth to be quicker however the more consistent you are the better the results. If you continue to wax month after month you will see the hair stay away for longer periods of time far longer than shaving, as shaving only removes the top portion of hair, while waxing removes the entire hair in one piece.
We recommend waiting between four to six weeks prior to your next appointment. Please keep in mind that we need at least ¼ of an inch (the size of a grain of rice), which can take different lengths of time for different people.
Remember, even if you want your hair gone ASAP, it’s important not to shave between waxing appointments! It can make hair too short for effective waxing, and it will destroy the progress you’ve made towards softer, finer hair with previous waxes.
We suggest you avoid tanning for 3-5 days after waxing to eliminate the possibility of any burning of the skin the exposure to harmful sunlight or tanning bed rays.
We recommend that you avoid these activities for at least 48 hours of having services provided. Since waxing opens up your pores, the risk for infection is increased and may cause unwanted irritation and/or bumps.
Yes, but don’t over do it. Sweating in general is not advised post wax as it is preferred however we ask that you keep your work out to a minimum post waxing. Body oils can build up and clog freshly waxed skin therefore moderation is suggested.
